KATSINA STATE UNIV.SET FOR CLOSURE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT

Christians and Muslims are presently fighting each other at the University of katsina ,the fight started on Friday when the large number of muslins mobilized themselves in protest over the much employment of christians workers at the university.Andrew Moses a security gaurd at the Univ.claims that they say a large group of student garthered and when the approached they told them they are here for Jihad against christian workers,he noted that this issue has started for long when a Muslim student said that the VC Ayatse James is favouring the christians student than the Muslim studend

He noted further that the boiling over of the crises was a result of a court order which recently reinstated Haruna Kaita.

Professor Kaita came to the university with a group of Muslims who threatened to deal with any Christians working here,” referring to the Federal Government-owned university.He said further that Muslim students backing Mr. Kaita mobilized other Muslims groups from Dutsin-ma town to support their mission of sending the Christians away from the federal university.It was also gathered Samuel Zumve, the interim chairman of the Academic Staff Union of the Universities (ASUU), equally mobilized some Christian students who came together “prepared to defend their Christians fellows in the university.”Police officers have however been deployed around the university to forestall religious violence in the town and the university.Meanwhile, chairman of the university Senate, Bichi, has ordered immediate closure of the university until normalcy returns.Meanwhile,he reported that a political rally by All Progressive Congress (APC) Katsina state chapter turned violent when an irate mob descended on the convoy of the governor of Katsina state along with dignitaries the irate mob were chanting '“Bamaso Abu Ibrahim’’ (We don’t want Senator Abu Ibrahim).
