MUSLIM GROUP DENIES ISLAMISING THE NIG.,CHRISTIAN ELDERS

Allegations that plans are being made to Islamise Nigeria have been rejected by Muslim group, Jama’atu Nasir Islam.
The claim was made by some retired Generals and members of the National Christian Elders’ Forum (NCEF).
According to reports, the Muslim body which is headed by the Sultan, described the claim as unfortunate, especially coming from a respected elder like T.Y Danjuma and others in the Christian community.
The group’s position was made known on Sunday, July 16, in Kaduna, by the national secretary, Dr. Aliyu Abubakar-Khalid, in a chat with newsmen.
According to Abubakar-Khalid, T.Y Danjuma and co had chosen to dwell on “what does not exist”, instead of focusing on the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra and other related problems which are capable of dividing Nigeria.
He stated: “It is unfortunate for elders to behave this way.
“Are there any Christians in this country that have been asked to denounce their faith?
“This is a mere gimmick and a trick in order to bury the ‘genocidal’ killing of defenseless Muslims and they are talking about Nigeria drifting towards Islamization and Sharia.”
Arika56 had previously reported that the Nigerian Christian Elders Forum (NCEF) accused northerners of plotting to turn Nigerian into a “caliphate”.
NCEF disclosed that some Buhari government’s policies are directly or indirectly promoting the theocratic agenda the north has for Nigeria.
Solomon Asemota, the chairman of NCEF while delivering a speech titled: “A Quest for peaceful resolution of conflict of ideology, democracy and Islamism in today’s Nigeria”, called on Nigerians in the Diaspora to put hands on deck and set free “their fatherland which is currently suffering because of a cracking foundation.”
